Bay Bridge
横浜ベイブリッジ860m in length, Yokohama Bay Bridge is a symbolic structure here at the Port of Yokohama.
全長860メートルのベイブリッジは、横浜港のシンボル的存在。
It is one of the world's largest double-deck (upper: Metropolitan Expressway, lower: National Route) cable-stayed bridges, connecting Honmoku and Daikoku Piers which are the Port's two main distribution hubs.
世界最大級の2層構造（上層：首都高速道路、下層：国道）の斜張橋で、港の二大ふ頭である本牧ふ頭と大黒ふ頭を結ぶ物流の要。
Minato Mirai Area (MM21)
みなとみらい（MM21）The MM (Minato="port", Mirai="future") area is a cluster of diversified functions including office, commercial, cultural, amusement and convention facilities.

Ōsanbashi Terminal
大さん橋Since 1894, the Ōsanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal has served as Japan’s gateway by sea.
横浜港大さん橋国際客船ターミナルは、1894年以来、日本の海の玄関口として活躍。
A.k.a. the “whale's belly” (from the way the structure looks), its design feature involves no pillars and no steps, creating for a unique and accessible environment —- an original architectural concept selected through an international pitch competition.
「くじらのおなか」の愛称（その見た目から）で知られる現在のターミナルは、国際コンペで選ばれた柱や階段のないユニークでバリアフリーな空間。
The rooftop, dubbed as the "whale’s back," is available to the public 24 hours, offering a spectacular nightscape.

Yamashita Park
山下公園Yamashita Park is Japan's first waterfront park, which landfill was constructed using debris from the Great Kantō Earthquake (1923).
関東大震災（1923年）の瓦礫を埋め立てに使って作られた、日本初の臨海公園。
The park sets out a romantic scenery perfect for a stroll along the port — a 1km-long (or 0.6-mile-long) path to take a relaxing walk whilst enjoying the view of seasonal flowers and incoming / outgoing vessels.
四季折々の花や行きかう船を眺めながら約1キロを港沿いに散策できるロマンチックな場所。
Hikawa-maru
氷川丸Hikawa-maru, an Important Cultural Property of Japan, was commissioned by Nippon Yūsen in 1930 as its signature cruise liner for the Yokohama-Seattle route.
重要文化財氷川丸は、日本郵船の代表的旅客船として1930年シアトル航路に就航。
Since retiring in 1960, she has been permanently moored at Yamashita Park.
1960年に引退して以来、山下公園を終の棲家とする。
The gorgeous interior featuring Art Deco style takes us back to the time when people called her the “queen of the North Pacific.”

Hotel New Grand
ホテル ニューグランドBuilt in 1926, Hotel New Grand is one of the iconic classical hotels in Japan — among its guest list the British royal family and Charles Chaplin.

The hotel’s renowned restaurant is credited as inventing unique dishes which give a Japanese twist to Western cuisine, namely “pudding a la mode,” a Japanese dessert which serves pudding with ice cream usually topped with fruits, and “spaghetti Neapolitan,” a popular Japanese pasta dish with tomato or ketchup-based sauce.

Motomachi
元町Soon after the opening of the Port of Yokohama, stores started to set up shop to cater to residents in the foreign settlement — this is the origin of Motomachi Shopping Street.
開港当時、居留地に暮らした外国人たちの御用達の店が集まったことから始まったショッピングストリート。
The street, to this day, is bustling with fashion boutiques, where the shops offer their original label clothing, shoes and small goods, attracting a loyal customer fan base.
今も各店のオリジナルの服・靴・雑貨が厚い支持を集めているお洒落の発信地。
Chinatown
横浜中華街Yokohama Chinatown, one of the largest of its kind in the world, boasts a grand scale of over 620 establishments located within an area of around 0.2 square km (49 acres).
世界最大級の規模を誇る横浜中華街には、約0.2平方キロのエリア内に620以上の店舗が並ぶ。
Signature delicacies here include Siu Mai (steamed Chinese dumpling), noodles and Chinese buns that come with a variety of fillings.
シュウマイ、麺類、バラエティ豊かな具が入った中華まん等、中華街名物が楽しめる。
Harbour View Park on the Hill (“Minato-no-mieru-oka” park)

Walking up the hill leading to the park, awaiting you is a magnificent view overlooking the Yokohama Bay Bridge.
公園へと続く坂道を登ると、そこには横浜ベイブリッジを臨む絶好のビューポイントが。
The Harbour View Park is also known for its lovely rose gardens — the roses come into full bloom twice a year in spring and autumn (mid-May to mid-June, and mid-October to mid-November), which would be some of the best times to visit.
バラの名所としても知られ、見頃は、春と秋の２回（5月中旬から6月中旬と10月中旬から11月中旬）。
Yokohama City Central Wholesale Market
横浜市中央卸売市場The Yokohama City Central Wholesale Market, which is essentially the “pantry of Yokohama,” is the source of fresh veggies & fruits, seafood and eggs for grocers and restaurants in the Yokohama / Tokyo area.
「横浜の台所」である横浜市中央卸売市場では、新鮮な青果、魚介類、鳥卵が取引され、横浜・東京エリアのショップやレストランに運ばれる。
They have a special “open house day” twice a month, inviting everyone to to come have a look inside and enjoy events like the tuna dismantling show and a guided tour.
月に2回、一般客向けに市場内部を開放する「一般開放日」が設けられ、まぐろの解体ショーや場内ツアーが楽しめる。
A smaller and cosier setting compared to the Tsukiji market in Tokyo, Yokohama’s Central Wholesale Market is filled with a lively, vibrant atmosphere.

Sōjiji Head Monestary
總持寺Soutousyuu head temple of a Buddhist sect
総本山
One the two head temples (“Daihonzan”) of Sōtō Zen Buddhism (Sōtō school of Zen).
仏教の禅宗,曹洞宗の総本山。
Within the spacious grounds of the temple (of around 500,000 sq metres), the cultural heritage of Sōjiji encompasses its sites and landscape including the Main Hall and Registered National Cultural Properties, as well as the serene setting it offers as an “internationally opened temple for Zen practice.”
約50万平米の敷地内では、仏殿や国登録文化財を含む総持寺の歴史的遺産に触れることができ、「開かれた禅苑」として市民のいこいの場となっている。
Over 100 monks are trained in the temple, undergoing intense training such as cleaning the floor of a 160 metre-long corridor from end to end by hand with a cleaning cloth, in a single wipe.
100人以上の修行僧が、160メートル以上続く百間廊下の雑巾がけなどの厳しい訓練を行う寺としても知られる。
Sankeien Garden
三溪園Sankeien is a Japanese-style garden showcasing traditional architecture and scenic beauty within its vast landscape — meticulously designed by Sankei Hara around the 1920s as a surrounding environment for his residence in the Hara estate.
伝統的な建造物や景観美を誇る、広大な敷地の日本庭園。
明治時代、原三溪によって所有地内の私邸を取り囲む形で巧みに設計された。
Rāmen Museum
ラーメン博物館Shin-Yokohama Rāmen Museum is the world's first food-themed amusement park featuring (you guessed it!) rāmen, an iconic Japanese noodle dish.

Kamakura
鎌倉Surrounded by the mountains and sea, Kamakura, the ancient capital of the First Warrior Government (=Kamakura Government), is highly popular among tourists with its serene natural landscape providing a beautiful setting for a nice long walk along temples, shrines, cafés and a high street named “Komachi Street.”

Kamakura also has many historical sights such as the Great Buddah at Kotokuji Temple and the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine (a Shintō Shrine, which is a sacred place in the ancient Japanese religion of Shintoism).

Mount Ōyama
大山Located in the Tanzawa Ōyama Quasi-National Park and its main gateway being Isehara City (Kanagawa Prefecture), Mt. Ōyama presents a beautiful pyramid silhouette with a height of 1,252 metres (approx 4,107 feet) above sea level.
丹沢大山国定公園に位置する大山は、神奈川県伊勢原市を表玄関に、標高1252mのピラミッド型の美しい山容を誇る。
The area surrounding Mt. Ōyama offers a “Japan in a nutshell” experience featuring Japanese history and culture — Tōfu cuisine using fountain water from Ōyama, locally- brewed Saké (Japanese rice wine), woodwork craftsmanship as demonstrated in the “Ōyama spinning top,” as well as the long-cherished ambience of the Edo period (1603-1868) and Shōwa period (1925-1989) which can be sensed throughout the lodging facility and the approach to the Ōyama Afuri Shrine.

Hakone
箱根During the Edo period (Tokyo used to be called “Edo”), Hakone was considered a strategic point for traffic, with a checkpoint to secure authorised inbound / outbound movement of people and goods to / from Edo.
古くから交通の要所とされ、江戸時代には江戸への人やものの出入りを取り締まる関所も置かれていた箱根。
Since Mt. Hakone is a typical composite volcano, the Hakone area enjoys landform features like maintains, lake and gorges, rich green landscape, and an abundance of hot springs (“onsen” or thermal springs) for which the area is well known.
箱根山は典型的な複式火山で、山と湖、渓谷と深い緑の景観に富み、温泉が豊富なことでも知られる。
There is a countless number of scenic sights, namely Ōwakudani (a volcanic valley) with an earthy smell of sulpher, Lake Ashi where the sightseeing pirate boat takes you to the big red “Torii” gate, and Sengokubara with an extensive marsh area and grassy plains.

Yokohama Stadium
横浜スタジアムYokohama Stadium, with a seating capacity of 3,000, is Japan’s first multi-purpose ballpark.
3000人を収容可能な日本初の多目的スタジアム。
The Stadium is the home ground of Yokohama DeNA Bay Stars (a professional baseball team in the Japanese Central League), and is also available for amateur baseball games, football matches and events including concerts.
日本プロ野球・セリーグの横浜 DeNAベイスターズの本拠地であり、アマチュア野球やサッカー、コンサートなどのイベントにも利用されている。
Noge area
野毛エリアDuring the post-war period, Noge was bustling with commoners trying to buy daily necessities at so-called black markets or grab a bite at food stalls.
戦後、野毛には闇市や屋台が立ち、物資を求める庶民でごったがえした。現在では、地元でも人気の、幅広い層の人々が集まる場所となっている。
In the present day, Noge is a local favourite frequented by people from all walks charmed by its old-school feel.

コスモワールドThe Cosmo Clock, iconic feature of the amusement park Cosmo World, is the world’s largest ferris wheel with a clock.

112.5 metres (369 feet) high and 100 metres (328 feet) in diameter, each of its 60 capsules can carry 8 passengers (hence a total of 480 passengers).
